- cobre
privacy policy
last updated october 18, 2026
cobre has no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and nothing you enter in cobre is sent to LOS DORANTES.
this policy describes where cobre stores your information, which permissions and Apple services it uses and why, the optional features that involve another service, and how to delete your data. cobre runs on iPhone and iPad. where this policy says iPhone, the same applies to your iPad.
information stored on your iPhone
cobre stores the information you enter on your iPhone: your transactions, recurring entries, categories, cofres, attachments, stamps, settings, and the details you add to people, such as a glyph, a color, a pin, which card is yours, or a photo for your card.
iCloud
- sync. when you are signed in to iCloud, cobre syncs that information, apart from a few settings that stay on each device, to private databases in your iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit, so it is available on your other devices. Apple stores it under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy. LOS DORANTES has no access to it. iCloud may notify cobre in the background when your data changes on another device, so cobre can bring your iPhone up to date.
- matching people across devices. to recognize the same person on each of your devices, cobre stores a hashed version of that person's name, phone numbers, and email addresses with the details you add to them. a hash is a fixed code computed from the original text.
- iCloud Drive summaries. this feature is off unless you turn it on in cobre's settings. when it is on, cobre uses iOS background refresh to write a summary file to a cobre folder in your iCloud Drive on the schedule you choose. the file lists your transactions, recurring entries, and cofres with their notes and tags, your categories, your totals, such as your balance, safe to spend, and projected balance, and the names of the people linked to them. a person's birthday is included only if you recorded a birthday gift for them. a short file that explains the format is written beside it. turning the feature off on an iPhone removes the summary that iPhone wrote. otherwise the files stay in your iCloud Drive until you delete them or use delete all data.
- iCloud Drive automatic backup. this feature is off unless you turn it on in cobre's settings, under data management. when it is on, cobre uses iOS background refresh to write the same backup file that export creates, on the schedule you choose, to a backups folder inside the cobre folder in your iCloud Drive. a backup holds your ledger and settings: your transactions, recurring entries, categories, cofres, attachments, stamps, settings, and the details you add to people, including the hashed contact details used to match them. it never holds your Claude key. each iPhone keeps its four newest backups and replaces older ones. a backup is a snapshot, so an item you delete later remains in backups written before it, until they are replaced. turning the feature off stops new backups and leaves the files in place until you delete them or use delete all data.
permissions cobre requests
iOS asks for your permission the first time cobre needs each of these, and you can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings.
- contacts. cobre reads your contacts so you can link people to transactions and insights, choose which card is yours, and see birthdays coming up. it keeps a copy of the contacts you allow it to see, with their details and photos, on your iPhone and refreshes it from Apple Contacts. this copy is not synced through cobre's iCloud databases, and like the rest of cobre's data on your iPhone, it is included in your iPhone's backups. a person's name appears outside cobre only through the features in this policy that you use, such as Apple Reminders, iCloud Drive summaries and backups, Siri, and Claude. cobre never edits or deletes your contacts.
- camera. cobre uses the camera only when you scan a document, such as a check or a receipt, to attach it to a transaction.
- photos. cobre does not request access to your photo library. photos you attach come through the iOS photo picker, which provides only the photos you select. when you save an image from cobre, such as a receipt, iOS asks for permission to add that image to your library.
- reminders. if you turn on Apple Reminders in cobre's settings, cobre requests full access to Reminders. it maintains a list named cobre with your pending entries and the ones you recently completed, and reads that list to learn which ones you mark done. each reminder shows the entry's title and amount, and its notes list the people, category, tags, and note you added. Reminders keeps the list in the account that held your default Reminders list when cobre made it, such as iCloud, and syncs it the way that account does.
- notifications. if you turn on a reminder for an entry or a cofre, or a reminder or moment in cobre's settings or when cobre offers one, cobre requests permission to send notifications. they are scheduled on your iPhone.
- Face ID. if you turn on enable local authentication, cobre uses Face ID, or your passcode, to unlock the app. iOS performs the check and tells cobre only whether it succeeded. cobre never receives your face data or your passcode.
Siri, Shortcuts, and Spotlight
- actions. through Apple's App Intents framework, cobre offers actions to Siri, the Shortcuts app, and Spotlight, such as checking your safe to spend, projected balance, spending so far, week, money with a person, or cofre progress, adding a transaction, creating a cofre, and adding money to a cofre or taking it back. the Shortcuts app lists every action, including the ones that change or delete your entries and delete all data. when you run an action, iOS processes your request and gives cobre only the values that action needs, such as an amount, a category, a person, a cofre, or the words you dictated for quick add. cobre returns the result, which Siri may read aloud or show on screen.
- choosing items by name. so you can refer to them in Siri and Shortcuts, cobre makes the titles of your transactions and recurring entries, and the names of your categories, people, and cofres, available to iOS on your iPhone.
- Siri suggestions. when you complete an action in cobre, such as adding a transaction, marking a payment, or editing a cofre, cobre reports it to iOS so Siri can suggest it again. a report can include the item's title, category, and amount, and iOS handles it under Apple's privacy policy. deleting an item removes the suggestions that refer to it. suggestions to repeat an action, such as adding a transaction with the same amount and category, can remain until you use delete all data. you can turn this off in iOS Settings, under Apps, cobre, Siri.
- Spotlight. cobre adds the names of your cofres to the Spotlight index on your iPhone so you can find them in search. each entry holds the cofre's name and no amount. Siri suggestions from cobre can also appear in Spotlight.
Apple Intelligence
when Apple Intelligence is available and turned on, cobre uses Apple's Foundation Models framework, which runs on your iPhone. cobre gives the model the text you type into quick add or ask cobre, along with the names and figures from your ledger that the request needs. the model returns a draft entry for you to confirm, the sentences of your papers, or an answer to your question. none of this leaves your iPhone.
Claude
Claude is optional and off unless you turn it on in cobre's settings. it lets Anthropic's Claude models handle quick add and ask cobre in place of Apple Intelligence.
- your API key. to use Claude you need your own Claude API key. an API key is a private credential that Anthropic issues to your Anthropic account in the Claude Console, and Anthropic bills your usage to that account. the key belongs to you, not to LOS DORANTES. cobre stores it only in the keychain of the iPhone where you enter it. it does not sync to iCloud or to your other devices, is not included in cobre's exports or backups, and is used only to send your requests to Anthropic.
- what is sent. while Claude is on, cobre sends the text you type into quick add or ask cobre, and the words you dictate to Siri for quick add, directly from your iPhone to Anthropic, together with the entry and cofre titles and the category, tag, and person names Claude needs to respond. your balances and the amounts in your ledger are never sent. LOS DORANTES does not receive or see these requests.
- Anthropic's terms. LOS DORANTES has no agreement with Anthropic for cobre. your requests go to Anthropic under your own account, and Anthropic processes them under its commercial terms. its privacy policy covers your Anthropic account.
- turning it off. you can turn Claude off or remove your key at any time in cobre's settings.
App Store purchases
cobre cobrador is cobre's paid access, a subscription or a one-time purchase. without it, your ledger is read only. it is sold through the App Store, and Apple processes the payment and manages any subscription under your Apple Account, Apple's terms, and Apple's privacy policy. cobre uses Apple's StoreKit framework on your iPhone to confirm what you have purchased and when a free trial began, so it can unlock cobre cobrador on your iPhone. cobre never receives your name, email address, payment information, or Apple Account details.
information you choose to send
cobre does not send anything on its own. when you share an image, export a backup, or email support, you choose the recipient, and what you send is then outside cobre.
when you tap get support in cobre's settings, cobre prepares an email to cobre support with a file attached. the file contains cobre's version, your iPhone model, iOS version, region setting, and sync status, and cobre's recent technical events and its newest crash report. nothing is sent unless you send the email.
third parties
cobre does not sell or share your data, and it contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code. the only outside services involved are Apple's, for the iCloud, Siri, Reminders, and App Store features you use, and Anthropic's, only if you turn on Claude. if the account that holds cobre's list in Reminders is not iCloud, its provider also holds that list. if you choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple gives LOS DORANTES crash reports and usage statistics for cobre that do not identify you, under Apple's privacy policy.
deleting your data
- where it stays. your information stays on your iPhone and in your iCloud until you delete it. LOS DORANTES never holds a copy, so only you can delete it, in the ways below.
- one item. deleting a transaction, recurring entry, cofre, or attachment in cobre removes it from your iPhone and from cobre's iCloud databases. a copy can remain in a summary or automatic backup written before, until that file is replaced.
- everything. in cobre's settings, under data management, delete all data permanently erases everything cobre stores on your iPhone and in iCloud: your transactions, recurring entries, categories, cofres, attachments, stamps, settings, and the details you add to people. on the iPhone where you use it, it also removes your Claude key, the cobre list in Reminders, cobre's Spotlight entries and Siri suggestions, and cobre's copy of your contacts. it also removes the iCloud Drive summaries and automatic backups written by every device, while iCloud Drive is reachable on that iPhone.
- what delete all data leaves. your Apple Contacts, which cobre never changes. while contacts access is on, cobre makes a fresh copy of them the next time it syncs. files you exported or shared, and your App Store purchase history.
- deleting the app. removing cobre from your iPhone erases the data it stored on your iPhone, including its copy of your contacts. two things remain: your Claude key stays in your iPhone's keychain until you reinstall cobre, which removes it, or until you remove it in cobre's settings before you delete the app, and the cobre list stays in Reminders until you delete it there. your data in iCloud remains until you use delete all data or delete cobre's data from your iCloud storage in iOS Settings, and any summaries and backups stay in your iCloud Drive until you delete them or use delete all data.
- permissions. you can withdraw any permission in iOS Settings at any time, and turn off Apple Reminders, iCloud Drive summaries, iCloud Drive automatic backup, and Claude in cobre's settings.
